Boreal Wilderness Institute's Wilderness Survival Summer Field Training (WSSFT) is a journey through the boreal forest, where participants have a chance to really discover the summer forest and its many resources. This course is a 3-day survival training session in the boreal forest. It is designed to be a learning experience where you will be challenged as you live in the summer boreal environment and learn advanced summer survival skills.

The one night of the course will be spent in a Solo camp. The other night will be spent in small group shelter. Each camps will be in a different location and environments for maximum learning opportunities. Safe wetland travel and water purification will be discussed and practiced. The emphasis will be on building survival skills and advanced tool building.

Wilderness Survival Summer Field Training allows you to take the next step by teaching advanced survival and wilderness living skills skills. This Training Session includes basic survival tools, shelter materials, and group safety equipment. Participants are responsible for basic camping gear, clothing, and all meals. This programme links together with the Wilderness Survival Core Seminar and the Wilderness Survival Summer Field Session for a Complete 5-Day Summer Survival Programme which runs in May each year. Participants will earn BWI's Survival Certificate on successful completion of this course.

Cost includes instruction, extensive course materials, use of various materials and tools. Shelter accommodation and equipment as noted above are included. Food, Personal Gear, Good Boots, and Clothing are NOT provided, please read the WSSFT Equipment List and ask questions before you arrive to avoid problems. Transportation to the start point and or movement between camps (if conditions warrant) are not included in the price. Locations change each year and vary depending on snow conditions, weather, location availability, and fire bans, etc.
