The Boreal Wilderness Institute is are always looking for ways to give credit for mastering wilderness skills and outdoor education essentials. The Wilderness Certificate Programme is designed for people who are committed to learning and to improving their wilderness skills. Each of our certificates represents a solid base of both essential knowledge and practical skills. We believe that a certificate in outdoor education involving wilderness survival and wilderness navigation is meaningful and extremely relevant to today's outdoor instructors.
The Boreal Wilderness Institute believes that its programmer's will allow you to build your skills while gaining the recognition through our certification. Survival Certificate
Master Modern Wilderness Survival
Do you want to become certified for wilderness survival training? Look no further than BWI to enhance your Outdoor Education Career.
Earn you Wilderness Survival Certificate in just 5-Days. This represents a level of commitment to the improvement and mastery of your modern wilderness survival skills. If you have an interest in wilderness survival, this is the series of survival courses you need to take.
To receive this certificate you must complete three courses; either the Wilderness Survival Core Seminar or the Aviation Survival Core Seminar and either the Wilderness Survival Winter Field Session or the Wilderness Survival Summer Field Session and either the Wilderness Survival Winter Field Training or the Wilderness Survival Summer Field Training.
Wilderness Mastery Certification
Outdoor Education Career Preparation
The Wilderness Mastery Certification is designed to give outdoor leaders certification in the areas of modern wilderness survival, wilderness navigation, and wilderness travel. The Wilderness Mastery Certificate represents a substantial achievement in the development of your wilderness skills.
To receive this certification you must complete; BWI's Survival Certificate, BWI's Navigation Certificate, and a Wilderness Expedition of betwen 5-10 days. Many options are available for the completion of the Wilderness Expedition, although a proper log book and a leadership roll are required on the trip.
In conjunction with this certification we provide a Wilderness Instructor Development Programme to further develop your outdoor training skills.
Navigation Certificate
Master Wilderness Navigation
Do you want to become certified for wilderness navigation training? Then look at BWI as the road to enhance your Outdoor Education Career.
Earn your Wilderness Navigation Certificate in just 5-days. This represents a high level of mastery in wilderness navigation skills. Participants will achieve knowledge and confidence by repeated use of topographical maps, air photos, compass, altimeter, and GPS in various terrain. If you want to master the art of wilderness navigate, this is the route you want to travel.
To receive this certificate you must complete three courses; the Wilderness Navigation Core Seminar, the Wilderness Navigation Field Session, and the Wilderness Navigation Mountain Session. The other option is to take all three courses in 5-days by taking the Complete Wilderness Navigation Course.
