The Wilderness Navigation Mountain Session is the 3rd and final course in our Navigation Certificate. This excellent wilderness navigation course allows participants to experience hands-on wilderness route finding, both during the day and night in a mountain environment. Emphasis is on practical route finding, topographical interpretation, use of a GPS Receiver, and night travel. This sessions will review navigation skills while adding specific advanced route planning, travel skills, and advanced uses of the GPS Receiver.
Several route planning exercises will be completed along with use of various navigational tools including altimeters and advanced GPS Receiver functions. The weekend wilderness navigation course is a practical training session, which allows participants to experience hands on route finding during the day and night. This wilderness navigation course will give you the confidence and practical experience needed to travel in rough terrain.
