The Wilderness Survival Summer Field Session (WSSFS) takes you beyond the classroom and deep into the Boreal Forest. The WSSSF gives you the chance to practice summer survival skills in relaxed hands-on learning atmosphere. This gives you the chance to practice and develop the modern wilderness survival skills discussed in Wilderness Survival Core Seminar. On this course you will learn the survival techniques necessary to live comfortably in the summer forest of Canada.

During the Wilderness Survival Summer Field Session emphasis will be on useful boreal forest plants, fire Lighting and knifecraft. Fire Lighting practice will be extensive and emphasize will be on lighting fire with natural tinder and a striker. During the WSSFS numerous skills and survival techniques will be taught throughout the weekend. Everyone will have plenty of time to practice these essential survival skills.

Participants in the Wilderness Survival Summer Field Session will live in a group shelter on the first night and in their individual survival shelter on the second night. Each participant will have the opportunity to build a summer survival shelter, a 15 minute Survival Saw, a sharpening board, and a staff. The next step after the WSSFS is to take the 5-day Wilderness Survival Summer Field Trek.
