Winter survival in the Canadian Wilderness is a challenge that can be overcome with the right training and practice. The Wilderness Survival Winter Field Session has a relaxed hands-on learning atmosphere, giving you a chance to develop and practice the wilderness survival skills discussed in the Wilderness Survival Core Seminar. This course takes you beyond the classroom allowing you to gain confidence in proper modern wilderness survival techniques that can be quickly applied in the Canadian Wilderness.

This expertly taught modern wilderness survival course gives you the chance to develop and practice winter survival skills, in a relaxed hands-on learning atmosphere. It will also allow you an excellent look at the challenges of the winter forest. In the Wilderness Survival Winter Field Session the emphasis will be on living comfortably in winter, boreal forest resources, shelter building, fire lighting, and knifecraft. Fire Lighting practice will be extensive and emphasize will be on lighting fire with natural tinders and a striker.

Duel Supershelters with a Fire Pit Birch Bark Tinder Survival Shelter at -35°C Knife Sharpening Completed Survival Shelter

Participants will live in a group shelter on the first night and in a survival shelter on the second night. Each participant will have the opportunity to build a winter survival shelter, a "15 Minute Saw" (Survival Bow Saw), a sharpening board, and an improvised candle lantern. Learn the skills you need to survive. The next step is to take the 5-day Wilderness Survival Winter Field Trek.
