Boreal Wilderness Institute's Wilderness Survival Winter Field Trek is a journey through the boreal forest, where participants have a chance to really discover the winter forest and its many resources. This course is a 5-day trek in the boreal forest. It is designed to be a learning experience where you will be challenged as you travel through the winter boreal environment. Instruction will be ongoing during the trip and you will be learning as you travel. "Practical, effective, hands-on learning. Likely the best Outdoor related purchase I've ever made." "The course was a wonderful learning experience with knowledgeable instructors, which allowed lots of time to actually practice the skills we were learning." "The trip itself is a lot of fun - provided you are reasonably comfortable outdoors. I had a great time hiking though the winter woods and building structures and tools with minimal equipment. It is a course worth taking just for the fun of the activity. I would highly recommend it to anyone who can enjoy the outdoors without a feather mattress." "The Winter Survival Course was definitely worth the time and money to take.
It is, however, very specialized. For this reason, the information and skills taught are probably the best available for survival in the boreal forest..." |
