What do I do if I am Buried by a Snow Avalanche?
If you are buried by an Avalanche or find that it is slowing down follow these procedures to help you survive longer and make your rescue easier
If on the Surface get into the Sitting Position
(As the snow stops you many be able to stand up.)
Make a last effort to Reach the Surface
(When you feel the avalanche slow down make a last effort to force your body to the surface)
Make an Airpocket
(Make a space infront of your mouth and nose with one hand. If you can force the other arm towards the surface.)
Save your Strength
(Don't Panic, wait for rescue.)
Don't waste time shouting
(Unless someone in standing on your head.)
